Program Overview

One Month. Five Courses. New York City.

Students complete five intensive courses focused on contemporary figurative practice, working from the live model and developing their studio work in a focused environment.

Beyond the classroom, students engage with the New York art world through museum visits, galleries, and artist studios—using the city as an extension of their education.

“Eight weeks in New York — drawing from life every morning, museums every afternoon. SURP turned a hunch about going to art school into a decision I haven’t second-guessed since.”

— Priya Ramaswamy, SURP ’25
